Obituary

Barbara Ann Wright, long time resident of Lake Havasu City, passed away peacefully December 12, 2019 at the age of 87 in the Polidori Home surrounded by her family. Known as Barb to some members of her family and friends, she was born on August 20, 1932 to Myron and Lulu Ellen Beane in Dayton, Ohio. The family including her sister, Billie, moved to Whittier, California in 1936 where Barbara graduated from high school. She attended Whittier College, and then married and had two children, Cindy and Dan. On her own for several years, she met the love of her life, John Wright. Two children, Terre and Rick, were born and their family first resided in Anaheim. They then moved to Golden, Colorado, and finally to Phoenix, Arizona. In each venue, they owned and operated restaurants. Barbara lost her husband, John, in 1981, but she and her then teenage children continued to run the restaurants in Sun City, Arizona. With her skills, the help of her two youngest children, and her ability to see the positive in everyone and every situation, she had a very successful business. When she retired to Lake Havasu City in 1999 to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law, Terre and Jim Flood, she landed her dream job of serving the golfers at the courses at London Bridge for many years. She considered it her social life more than a job. Sadly, she lost her son, Dan, in 2007. She loved family vacations to tropical destinations, visiting her sister and family in San Diego, playing golf, and the miles she walked the trails of the local state parks with her four-legged friends. Barbara is survived by two of her daughters, Cindy, North Carolina; Terre and husband Jim Flood, Lake Havasu City; son Rick Wright, Lake Havasu City; daughter in-law Heather Wright, Reno, NV and grandchildren, Jeff, Jeremy, Deanna, Brook, Jimmy, Kim, Christy, Casey, David and Charles and fifteen great-grandchildren. We must add Missy, her loving four-legged companion, who looked after her to the end.
