Obituary

Barbara Stanton, 88 years old, of Lake Havasu City, AZ, passed away on 8/9/2018 in her home. She was born in San Fernando, CA to Jack and Clara Fairfield on 11/11/1929. Barbara was a member of the PEO Lake Havasu City chapter and group. She volunteered at the Desert Hills Fire Station. Barbara belonged to a local book club. She loved to crochet and knit. Instead of being a "snowbird" she was a "sunbird" traveling with her husband, in a RV along the coast of California. Emma Wood state park in Ventura was her favorite campground, especially when family came to visit. Barbara is preceded in death by her son, Bruce Stanton (survived by spouse Pam.) Barbara is survived by her husband, Brener Stanton. She married Brener on 6/10/1950 in San Fernando, CA and was married for 68 years. Barbara is survived by her sons, Larry Stanton (spouse Irene) and David Stanton: Daughter, Laurie Downing (spouse Bradley): 7 grandchildren, Jake and Sean Stanton, Ben and Rachel Bizar-Stanton, Nicole Cooper (spouse Nick), Brandon and Brittany Downing: 2 great-grandchildren, Liam and Jackson Cooper. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. A gravesite service is scheduled 8/20/2018 in Newhall, California. Barbara's final resting place will be next to her parents. A memorial service in Havasu may be scheduled in the near future. The family of Barbara wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Hospice of Havasu and Gems Assisted Living.
