Obituary

Carl B. Benyo, 82, passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2018 with his wife by his side. He was in the place he loved to watch the sunrise and the ducks swimming in the lake. He was born on August 31, 1935 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Steve and Sophia Wolan Benyo. Carl proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. After the armed forces, he spent his career working for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of Los Angeles, California. Carl and his wife retired to Fort Mohave, Arizona. His passion was flying, starting with helicopters in the military and piloting airplanes later in life. He was also an avid golfer and automobile enthusiast. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Margo Sexton; daughter, Terri Lynn Acton (Steve) of Texas; son, Steven Benyo of California; grandchildren, Heather Benyo of California, and Malyssa and Jason Acton of Texas; sisters, Ginger Burek and B.J. Benyo; brother Steve R. Benyo (Linda) all of West Virginia; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; step-children, Jeffrey Sexton (Kimberly), Kapiolani Sexton-Strait, and Robert Sexton; step-grandchildren, Alicia, Sydney, Kassidi, Emma, Kailee, and Luke; and his dearest friends, John and Norma Jean Moore. Carl will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Marcella J. and her husband Dick Wyatt. It is his wish to be remembered in prayer. Love today with all your heart, as you cannot undo yesterday, and tomorrow is uncertain. Fly with the Angels Carl! Services were placed in the care of Mohave Memorial Funeral & Cremation Services.
