Obituary

Carole Ann Russom, 77, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Havasu Regional Medical Center. Carole was born in Springfield, Ohio on May 8, 1943 to Marshall and Elsie (Kearns) Couch. She graduated from Pasadena High School and later took some college courses. Carole worked for General Dynamics. She raised three children and then drove an 18-wheeler delivering throughout the U.S. and Canada. She later worked as a correctional officer at the Okeechobee Men's Correctional Facility in Florida. Carole then opened a clothing store in Havasu called Sparkles, while doing swap meets on the weekends for another 17 years. In her younger years, she was a Girl Scout leader, PTA president, and the head of Red Cross, which earned her "Citizen of the Year" in Fontana, California. Carole enjoyed dancing/clogging, socializing on Facebook, keeping in touch with friends and family, traveling the U.S. to visit family in her RV, and had a passion for beading and making jewelry. Carole enjoyed traveling with her mother, Elsie, who was her best friend, and then later with her granddaughter, Olivia. Carole is survived by her daughter, Tisa Oakley; grandchildren, Marsha, Olivia, and Louis Oakley; Aunt, Mary Lou Shires; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Elsie Couch; and her one and only sibling, Sandra McBride. She will be dearly missed by all those who loved her in life.
