Donald Whalen, 83, Kingman, AZ passed away on September 29, 2016 at the Joan and Diana House.
Donald Joe Whalen was born on April 21, 1933 in Tucson, AZ to Joseph and Violet (Clark) Whalen. He was raised on the family ranch near Tucson, and after his education he enlisted in the US Army. Donald served two tours in the Korean Conflict. Upon his discharge from the Army, Donald was happily married and worked for CTI as a master mechanic in diesel engines. His job required him to live in many areas of Arizona, including the Grand Canyon. He was responsible for building, setting up and training new sections within CTI.
At the age of 58, Donald retired from his life long career at CTI and spent time hunting and enjoying time spent with his grandchildren. He was an active member of the American Legion.
Donald is survived by four sons, Larry "Cliff" Whalen, Golden Valley, AZ, Vonnea "Mike" Whalen, Harker Heights, TX, Bryan Whalen, Lakeland, FL, and Donald Whalen II, Kingman, AZ; three daughters, Laura Williams, Auburndale, FL, Sheryl Baldwin, Winter Haven, FL, and Christy Lever, Haines City, FL; and his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Richard "Patt" Whalen.
