It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Brattin. Douglas Brattin was 69 years young at the time of his unexpected passing. He is the eldest of 5 brothers and sisters. Douglas had a life well lived. Son of two WW2 veterans, a Lt Marine Aviator and a military nurse. He went through many ups and downs in his life, ranging from successful stock broker to owner of multiple insurance agencies and video stores. When not working some of his favorite pass times were going fishing with his son, experimenting in his gardens of vegetables and exotic flowers, and baking enough cookies each year to feed a small army. When asked if he had a good life he simply stated that he had "worked too hard and didn't spend enough time smelling the roses." One thing is for sure, he was to his last breath, a man that could light up a room with laughter and one liners and corny jokes. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, one son, one daughter in law and one grandson that stole his heart. At this time there are no services but the family thanks you for your prayers and support.
