IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frances Fran
Roland
October 6, 1960 – November 22, 2025
It is with the heaviest of hearts we, the family of Fran Roland, announce that she passed away in Prescott, Arizona, on November 22, 2025, surrounded by immense love after a brief illness. There are no words to perfectly capture a life measured not only in years but in love.
Fran was born on October 6, 1960, in Bayonne, New Jersey, and later moved with her father, Spiro, stepmother, Yiota, and brother, Peter, to Wayne, NJ. Fran graduated from St. Peter’s College with a degree in Business. After graduation, she worked alongside her father at his restaurant, The King George Diner . It was there, 35 years ago, that Fran met her previous husband, best friend, “ride or die,” and father to their children, Darrell Roland. Together, they had three sons: Zachary, whom they lost at birth, and their miracle twins, who were born three years later—Lucas and Nicholas.
Fran was predeceased by her beautiful baby boy, Zachary Roland; her paternal and maternal grandparents; father, Spiro; brother, Peter; and mother-in-law, Eileen.
Along with her sons, Lucas and Nicholas, Fran is survived by Darrell, her constant supporter; her stepmother, Yiota, with whom she shared an immediate and lifelong mother-daughter bond from the young age of twelve; and her brothers and their families—George, his wife Shelley, and their children; and Yerasimos and his wife Sophie. She was a very important part of her brothers’ lives and upbringing—being the best big sister anyone could ask for: always loving, kind, and protective. She is also survived by her biological mother, Irene Poulos, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended loved ones.
We moved as a family to Cape Breton in 2006, where Mom loved being a surrogate mom to all of our friends. No one left without a meal, clean laundry, and a hug. She was the hostess with the mostest, the chef’s right hand, and loved hosting parties. She loved being a stay-at-home mom to us boys—always caring, patient, kind, full of life and love.
She touched many lives and, even through her own struggles, was always ready with a hot meal, a coffee, a smile, and a hug—ready to help you with yours.
Mom’s favorite thing to do was sit with company around the fire. Ever the nurturer, she devotedly cared for her mother-in-law throughout her illness until her passing. Among her most loyal companions was Lolli, her cherished fur baby and beloved dog, who held a truly special place in her heart and life.
She will be deeply missed by many friends and family—from Canada and the United States to loved ones as far away as Greece.
Cremation has taken place under the care of ABC Funeral Home, Chino Valley, AZ.A celebration of life will be held and announced at a later date.
There is peace in knowing Mom is at peace. She was an earth angel, and now she has gained her true wings.
“You can’t start a fireYou can’t start a fire without a sparkThis gun’s for hireEven if we’re just dancin’ in the dark”
Forever loved and always missed,
Darrell, Lucas, and Nicholas
