IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gregory Allen
Rice
February 15, 1941 – November 3, 2025
Greg was born in Detroit, Michigan to Max and Mabelle Rice on February 15, 1941, and died in Prescott, Arizona on November 3, 2025.
He had one brother, Douglas Rice.
Greg is survived by his wife of 33 years, Nancy Rice; daughters Kelly Groeneveld and Lynn Moore; and beautiful granddaughters Brooklyn Moore and Carly Moore.
Greg had many fond memories of good times at Cooley High School (Detroit, MI), as well as during his years in the USAF as Military Police (1959-1963) during which he was stationed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Diyarbakir, Turkey, and Lincoln, Nebraska. After finishing his military service years, he graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a BS in Political Science. He married and started a family and an exciting career with the General Motors Company.
After retirement from General Motors in 1998, he was a generous supporter of Nancy in her career for several more years. They enjoyed spending time together, doing anything as long as it was together - yard work, walks in the woods, cooking meals together, visiting with family and friends, and respite in their cabin in the Smoky Mountains. In 2016, they relocated from Washington, Michigan to Prescott, Arizona.
Greg loved the outdoors - hunting, fishing, nature - and had many memorable fellowship times with friends & family in the mountains of Virginia and the lakes of Michigan. He took great pride in keeping whatever land he lived on in pristine condition through his vision and hard work.
Greg was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a great motivator, role model, and goal achiever; he left a positive impact in everything he did.
Greg will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved him.
