JOHN J. GAST, JR. Long time resident of Golden Shores, John J. Gast, Jr., beloved father, was called to his eternal resting place on Friday, May 5, 2017. He entered this world on February 2, 1925 in Minneapolis, Minn., born to John Joseph Gast, Sr. and Ethel Josephine Gast. John served in the Navy during WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn (DeeDee) Gast. John is survived by his daughters, Susan (Wayne) Botz, Carol (Gregg) Van Lith, Lela Mae (Larry) Graves, Lynn (Alvin) Love; sons, Bruce (Janet) Gervin and Albert (Kristina) Gervin; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Desert Lawn Memorial Gardens. Following at 12:00 p.m. there will be a Celebration of Life Military Service and Luncheon at Topock VFW Post 6306. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Charity at Arrangements handled by Desert Lawn Funeral Home.
