Marvin, 88, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away on February 9th, 2021. Marvin Lavern Zeman was born just outside Wolbach, Nebraska, to Alois and Mary Zeman. He was soon joined by sisters Lorraine and Therese. At the age of nine, the family moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where Marvin finished growing up. One of his fondest childhood memories was the many years he was active in the Boy Scouts of America, including being a camp counselor for several summers. He later would become active in scouting again as an adult leader with his three sons. While in high school, he took all the trade classes that were offered, and they shaped his decision on what he wanted to do in the future. Marvin enlisted in the Navy in 1951, and went through basic training in San Diego, California. He proudly served his country for the next four years being stationed in Kodiak Alaska, Hawaii, and the Philippines. He received an honorable discharge in 1955. He returned to Cedar Rapids where he became a machinist at Collins Radio. He met Delores Ann Kouba, and she became his lovely bride in 1956. They soon had three sons, Mark, Bryan, and Darryl before moving to San Gabriel, California, in 1960, where his daughter Marie was born. Marvin adored and was always very proud of all of his children, and he worked very hard to provide a good life for his family. Marvin started his own precision machining business in 1966, which he owned until he retired in 1998. He was always very active in his parish of the San Gabriel Mission, the Knights of Columbus, and the Boy Scouts of America. After retirement, Marvin and Delores moved to the northern California community of Lake Shastina. Marvin always loved the outdoors and camping, of which Delores shared his passion. They enjoyed their lifestyle in Lake Shastina until 2011 when health issues prompted them to move to Arizona to be closer to family. Marvin is survived by his wife Delores; his children Mark, Bryan, Darryl, and Marie; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in passing by Alois, his father; Mary, his mother; and Lorraine and Therese, his sisters. The family will be having a private memorial service.
