IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stacey Lynn
Cloyd-Krug
February 17, 1979 – June 27, 2025
Stacey Lynn Cloyd-Krug was born on February 17,1979, in Rockford, IL, and passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 27th, 2025, at the age of 46 in Prescott, AZ.
Stacey will be forever remembered as a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, and teacher. Her unwavering love for her family and friends was evident in everything she did, and she expressed that love through her electric smile and gentle but firm hugs. Her love for her family was evident year-round, as she could always be found cheering on her sons, capturing countless photos to document their milestones, and enjoying many cross-country family vacations back to Illinois to spend cherished time with her parents and relatives. Stacey loved broadly and deeply-from The world of Harry Potter to Halloween’s magic, the quiet soothing of crochet, the charm of frogs, and the unconditional love she shared with animals and beloved pets, Sprinkles and Cupcake. Her passions were apparent from her selection of clothing and tattoos to decorations that adorned her home. Stacey had been a devoted educator in Arizona for the last 22 years, with the last 10 years teaching science at Heritage Middle School in Chino Valley.
Stacey’s dedication to science and her students was evident in the countless hands-on labs and engaging activities she led over the years-many of which she tested with her own sons. Her passion was matched only by her commitment to her students’ success. Through her creativity and enthusiasm, Stacey made science come alive in her classroom, sparking curiosity and inspiring thousands of students throughout her career.
Stacey is survived by her loving husband, Wade Krug; sons, Brayden and Landon Krug; her mother, Julie Cloyd; sister, Aaron (Michael) Cloyd-Flavell; and brother, Thomas (Ashley) Cloyd. She is also survived by her father- and mother-in-law, James and Mary Jo Krug, and her brother-in-law, Kevin (Jill) Krug and her cherished nephew and nieces: Peter, Alexa, Sophia, Lyla, and Eleanor.
She was preceded in death by her father, Randall Cloyd; her grandfather, Keith Miller; her grandmothers, Carol Miller and Pauline Cloyd and her great-grandmothers, Vera Adams and Amelia Miller.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Call, Goodman, Humes, Stockton, & Van Orden Families, Chino Valley School District and the entire Chino Valley community for your outpouring of love, support, and kindness during this difficult time. Your compassion has meant so much to us.
Stacey’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Chino Valley Church of Latter-Day Saints. A social gathering will follow immediately after the service for family, close friends, and co-workers.
In honor of Stacey’s vibrant spirit, the family kindly requests attendees wear bright colors and casual attire such as shorts. Please avoid suits, ties, or dark clothing. This is a celebration of Stacey’s life and the joy she brought as a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, and teacher.
In leu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the families “GoFundMe” account to support Stacey’s family during this difficult time.
