Obituary

Vera Jane (Clark) Smith ,83, passed away peacefully September 5,2020 in Lake Havasu after a long battle with kidney failure and breast cancer. She was extremely brave and choose to die with dignity and stop dialysis. Vera was born April 4, 1937 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was one of 4 children to Leona and Bill Clark. They moved to California when she was in junior high. She graduated from Fontana High School in 1955 then graduated from Chaffey Junior College in 1957. The day after graduation she married the love of her life William Smith and they were married for 62 wonderful years. They had 3 children; Ken, Jane and Steve. She worked as a school secretary at Alta Loma High School. Then a legal secretary for General Dynamics for a total of 30 years! She loved to quilt and was part of the Havasu quilting guild. They loved to travel and went on many cruises to Hawaii, Alaska and the Panama Canal. Vera was preceded in death by her loving husband who passed June 2019. She is survived by her Sister; Mary Woodhouse; Her children; Ken Smith; Jane Smith (Lyons); Steven Smith; Grandchildren; Shannon Smith; Brandon Smith; Marlee Lyons; Adam Lyons; Caitlin Smith; Kailee Smith. She also had 4 great grandchildren. Per her request the family will have a small get together as a memorial. Love you mom we all loved you so much! Our parent's ashes will be scattered in a special place they always loved to go at their request!
